Community Colleagues
We work closely with a number of community colleagues not employed by the practice
Usually such colleagues are employed by the PCT, but social services, voluntary sector and others also make a valuable contribution to the healthcare team
These colleagues include the addictive behaviour services, counsellors, district nurses, health visitors, MacMillan nurses, pharmacists, physiotherapists, podiatrists, psychology etc.
You may be seen by our community colleagues in the surgery, in Whitby Hospital or in your own home, depending on where it is most appropriate
Although some services can accept direct referrals, for many you require a referral from your GP.
