Online appointment booking
We will be offering this service from the end of February 2005. When the service
is available this paragraph will disappear & full instructions will appear in
its place. Also an announcement will appear on our homepage, so you don't need
to keep checking this page to see if the service has gone live.
| In order to make appointments over the internet you first need to
register for the service. This paragraph will be amended when the
service goes live with details of how to get your PIN etc. Whilst the
link below will take you to the site to make appointments, we are not
issuing PINs until all staff have had information about the service, so
you will not be able to apply for the information that will allow you to
proceed until the second week of February. The
information you will need is a pin number, access Id number and the
practice code. You will also need to have a password ready to complete
the registering pages. A separate pin number and access Id number is
needed for each member of your family. When you have registered to use
the service you will be redirected back to the first page of EMIS ACCESS
and you can then log in to make or cancel appointments. The site is
secure.
We ask that you only book appointments with the doctor with whom you
are registered, or in the case of our
job sharing doctors you
may book with their job share partner. You may also book appointments
for one of our assistants or GP registrars if there is no appointment
available for your own GP. You may cancel appointments on-line as well
as book them.
We also ask that you do not book appointments for more than one
week in advance.
 | Any appointments shown as being available for more than a week
ahead are only provisional and subject to change, because the
doctors have a rota for covering Whitby Hospital minor injuries unit
and other commitments, which is not finalised until a week before.
If you book an appointment more than a week ahead and that clinic is
subsequently rearranged, we will not be able to advise you of the
change and you run the risk of attending for an appointment that no
longer exists. |
If there is no appointment available with your doctor,
it may be because all the appointments are full or because the doctor is
away from the practice. Please either try again, or phone the surgery
during normal working hours.
Please continue to telephone the surgery if you need an urgent
appointment, or you need to see another member of the Primary Care Team,
such as a nurse, as not all appointments can be booked online. |
