The surgeries are closed on Public Holidays.
Consulting hours in normal hours
Normal consulting hours for GPs are 8.30 - 10.30am and 3.00 - 5.00pm.
The GPs also offer telephone consultations where the doctor will call you back.
Nurse clinics are 8.30am - 12pm and 2.00 - 5.30pm.
Because of our commitment to Whitby Hospital these hours may vary from week to week and between individual doctors so it is best to phone to check with our receptionists when you can be seen or book online.
Patients may book doctors' appointments up to 5 working days in advance (practically speaking this means one week).
We run personal lists and, when possible, patients should see their own doctor or the job-share partner if the doctor with whom you are registered is a job share partner.
If your own GP is not available, for urgent problems, we also run open clinics which are book on the day with either a doctor or the nurse practitioner. The book on the day clinics should be for single problems that cannot wait. For patients with a number of issues, or routine problems, the normal appointments are more appropriate.
If there are no appointments available and your problem is urgent please let the receptionist know and the duty doctor will phone you back and arrange an appointment or deal with the problem in another appropriate way.
Extended hours
In order to provide choice to patients who cannot easily get to our routine surgeries, such as those of you who work away, we offer an extended hours service where you can book to see your doctor on Thursday evenings.
Extended hours evening surgeries are from 6pm to 8pm on Thursdays.
Appointments should be pre-booked. Please phone reception during normal surgery daytime hours to find out when your doctor is doing an evening surgery.
The surgery phone line is not open during extended hours and in an emergency you should contact the out of hours service.
We offer 2 walk-in appointments. However it is, of course, preferable to book your appointment to ensure you see your own doctor.
There are also some appointments for the practice nurse available during extended hours.
