Research
This Medical practice is research active; we take
part in high quality medical research. Medical research helps to improve
the health and wellbeing of the nation.
Whitby Group Practice works in collaboration with
the Comprehensive local Research Network and the Primary Care Research
Network, to offer a wide range of research studies to our patients.
Primary care plays an important role in disease
prevention and early diagnosis, therefore is an ideal setting to carry
out research studies.
We offer a wide variety of studies covering
disease areas such as diabetes, heart disease, high cholesterol, cough,
leg ulcers, and depression. New studies are constantly coming through.
We aim to give our patients the chance to take
part in research if they want to. You may occasionally be offered the
chance to participate in a study by letter or phone call from one of the
research team, any participation is voluntary there is no obligation and
if you don’t want to take part it does not affect your healthcare in any
way.

If you would like to know more about research or
the studies we offer you can contact the research nurse Denise Williams
at the surgery.
