Welcome to the Whitby Group Practice homepageWe hope you find our site of interest. We welcome comments via email. IntroductionImprovements to out of hours cover Whitby Group Practice provides NHS primary medical care (family medicine) to approximately 15,000 patients in the North East of England. We practice from 2 purpose built premises; the main surgery in the town of Whitby, with a branch surgery in Robin Hood's Bay. (Click on the thumbnails for full pictures).
We have 12 partners (10 full time equivalents) and a number of other doctors work with us. We are a training practice. We dispense prescriptions for our rural patients (those living more than a mile from a chemist). As well as providing primary care services, all the partners also provide medical services in the local community hospital (Whitby Hospital). Dr Sutcliffe completes The Seven Summits Congratulations to Dr Sutcliffe on this magnificent achievement. Friday 23rd November 2007. Dr Sutcliffe bagged his final summit, Carstensz Pyramid, to complete the challenge of climbing the highest peak of each continent; the seven summits. This feat has previously been achieved by 108 people. The mountains are Mount Everest (Asia), Elbrus (Europe), Kilimanjaro (Africa), McKinley also known as Denali (North America), Aconcagua (South America), Vinson (Antarctica) and Carstensz (Australasia). These pictures are from his 2006 mount Everest climb. In the group photo on the left; Dr Sutcliffe is wearing his oxygen mask. The photo on the right proudly displays the logo of St Catherine's hospice; all sponsorship raised from the trip goes to the hospice and anyone who wishes to donate can contact us for details.
